The International Film Festival Rotterdam is one of the Netherland’s biggest festivals. Coming year we celebrate our 40th edition, which will take place from 26 January till 6 February 2011. Over these twelve days hundreds of movies are shown in over twenty screens throughout Rotterdam’s city center. To make this great even possible the IFFR works with over 750 volunteers performing many different jobs. As a volunteer you get a unique experience behind the scenes of the biggest cultural event of the Netherlands. What can you expect as a vVolunteer?
The International Film Festival Rotterdam is a busy period in which you work intensively with really nice and friendly colleagues in an informal working environment. In return for your efforts you’ll get a Crew pass, with which you can get free tickets for all film screenings.
Besides the crew pass you get food and drinks during your shifts, discount on consumption vouchers, the beautiful official festival t-shirt, our extensive movie catalogue, a welcome gift and of course invitations for several special volunteer film screenings and parties.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide you with sleeping space or refund traveling costs. For more information on hotels, hostels, other sleeping possibilities or public transport we advice you visit the
website of Rotterdam’s tourist information office. As a volunteer you are covered by our festival assurance.
What do we expect from you?
As a volunteer we expect you to be available during the entire festival period and work a minimum of ten shifts. There are more then 10 different volunteer jobs for international volunteers. Availability in the period before the festival can be an advantage. Furthermore we expect from volunteers that they are representative and able to speak English well. As it is an international film festival there are plenty of jobs available for non-Dutch speakers.

How to apply as a volunteer?
You can let us know you want to participate by filling out the
application form . You will be contacted about your preferences and job during the festival sometime in November.
If you have volunteered for the festival in the last two years, you will receive an e-mail mid November with a personal code and password. With this information you can log on to a special part of the website. Where you will find a personal application form in which you can review and change the information we have and apply for this year’s festival edition.
