Im Freien   TS-2012

A three-month sojourn on Iceland linearly condensed into 23 minutes by the camera. An existentialist portrait of an awe-inspiring setting.

The inaccessible landscape of Iceland functions as an arena for a fascinating and cinematic double pass between Sackl and his modified 16mm camera. Wherever they are, an image is photographed every three minutes, three months in a row. Fickle weather conditions and shortening days shape the image and enter into a dialogue with introduced sculptural elements. The concept is maintained right up to the final credits, shot on location.
