Yo, también   BF-2010

A graduate with Down's Syndrome falls in love with a colleague. Yo, también is one of the most surprising films of the last year with two spectacularly good protagonists. Sharp and convincing, humorous and moving. And yes, the film makes you think.

Me Too is a surprising social drama. The film is about 34-year-old Daniel from Seville. He is the first European man with Down's Syndrome to get a university degree. When Daniel gets a new job, he meets Laura, an open-minded colleague. Their friendship attracts the attention of friends and family who regard it as a problem if Daniel falls in love with Laura.
Me Too is the debut by the script-writing and directing duo Álvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro. The film is sharp and humorous, touching but not syrupy. Me Too quickly puts things on edge: Who is completely normal, why do we so quickly regard people with Down's as if they were children, and how sad can it be if you're just very ordinary? Lola Dueñas (well-known from Mar adentro) and Pablo Pineda had already been drowned in praise and prizes in their home country for their impressive acting achievements.
