Film festival sells the first 102,000 tickets

After three days The International Film Festival Rotterdam has sold around 102,000 tickets; a third of the total available tickets. For box office sales, from Tuesday 26th January and for festival guests, tickets will be kept available for all film showings. There is a great demand for films from Werner Herzog, Claire Denis, Wes Anderson, Francis Ford Coppola and the competition films.

Online ticket sales began smoothly on Friday 21st January at 20.00 via the festival website. Working together with Active Tickets and 3po, this edition of the festival is using a new integrated and customer friendly system for ticket sales. For the first time customers will receive a confirmation email with a barcode after their online purchase. Using this barcode, they can quickly pick up tickets at the central festival box office in the Doelen.

Traditionally there is a great demand for tickets for evening screenings at the weekend. For film showings during the week and at daytimes there are plenty of tickets available. Anyone who wants to see more than five films can get a discount on the usual ticket price of 9 euros by buying a Tiger Pass for 15 euros.
