The IFFR always lends Rotterdam a festive atmosphere, but this edition things will be bigger than ever. Some of the city’s buildings or institutions are to become festival locations to celebrate the IFFR’s fortieth anniversary. These additional locations will host, among other things, film screenings, exhibitions of video work or film-related art. A special XL pass will give visitors access to the XL locations during the festival.
XL doesn't just stand for the number 40, but also for "extra locations". For the duration of the festival 40 unique places in Rotterdam will be transformed into festival locations. From the Groot Handelsgebouw and the Maritime Museum to the Kunsthal and Focuskliniek eye hospital, it will be impossible for anyone in Rotterdam to miss the film showings, video installations and exhibitions from the IFFR.

XL pass
As well as giving admission to all the locations, the XL pass also serves as a year-long subscription to the Dutch public transport bicycle scheme (OV-fiets) and includes the use of a bicycle for two days for free.

The XL pass is already for sale in the
webshop (Dutch) for €11 and can also be bought during the festival at the central box office at the Doelen. For more information about XL and OV-fiets, you can go directly to the
OV-fiets website.
