The IFFR’s opening coincided with the first anniversary of the Egyptian revolution which was initiated on 25 January 2012 on Tahrir Square in Cairo. Besides being a filmmaker, director Omar Robert Hamilton is also an activist who has been continuously involved in the demonstrations.
He decided not to come to Rotterdam during this important week. Briefly before marching to the Egyptian state television station’s building with a group of demonstrators, he recorded this video on Tahrir Square.
