Guo Xiaolu

GUO Xiaolu (1973, China) was born in a fishing village in South China. She moved to Beijing when she was 18 and studied at the film academy there for seven years. During this period, she started publishing poetry and novels. In China she worked as a scriptwriter, director, and journalist and taught film making. Her 60-minute documentary The Concrete Revolution was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Human Rights Film Festival in Paris in 2005. Her first feature, How is Your Fish Today? competed in Tiger Awards Competition in 2007.
