Tiger Friends   

The IFFR has founded its own friends’ club for festival fans, cinephiles and everyone who cares about art and culture. Become a Tiger Friend and the festival will spoil you with discounts and priority online ticket sales.

Thanks to its loyal, adventurous audience, the IFFR is the largest admission charging event in the Netherlands. This is good for the vulnerable, independent films on the festival’s programme. Nevertheless, the festival can always use some additional financial support and precisely in this day and age personal contributions can literally make a world of difference.

Long-lasting friendship
For mere €50 per year contribution you can become a Tiger Friend thereby enabling us to continue to bring beautiful, innovative and exceptional international films to Rotterdam. The friendship is of course entirely mutual: the festival gives Tiger Friends special treatment, for instance, including priority online ticket sales, special discounts and activities throughout the year.

From this IFFR edition onwards, we will start using direct debit for the friends contribution. Your contribution will automatically be debited from your account every year until you cancel your membership. Tiger Friends receive their personalised pass in January well before the festival starts, or can pick it up at the Central Box Office in de Doelen.

Benefits for Tiger Friends

• You will receive a €2.50 discount on every standard ticket
• Priority online ticket sales: you can start purchasing tickets – for two people and for a maximum of fifteen film screenings - online one day before everyone else can
• Upon purchase, your tickets will automatically be loaded onto your Tiger Friends Pass. A scanner will be used at the door to film screening to read your pass. You therefore no longer require a paper ticket!
• A 10% discount on all festival products at our merchandise stands on location and in the online shop (year round)
• Opportunity to book two tickets to the official opening
• Invitations to special IFFR events or exclusive offers both during and outside the festival period (free or at a discount)
• You support the festival as a whole

To become a Tiger Friend
You can become a Tiger Friend for €50 per year. When you become a member this amount will be paid using iDEAL or credit card. This purchase also authorises IFFR to deduct this amount from your bank account every year (in November) using direct debit. Every year, you will receive a new, personalised Tiger Friends pass.

You have to use a MyIFFR account to become a Tiger Friend. These accounts on our website are easy to create. Memberships are personal and so only one Tiger Friends membership can be created per MyIFFR account. You can upload the passport photograph required for your pass to your MyIFFR-account. Do not forget to do so as only if we have a passport photograph can we create your pass!

Cancelling membership
You can cancel your Tiger Friends membership by e-mailing tigerfriends [@] filmfestivalrotterdam.com before 1 November of every year. If you do not cancel your membership before 1 November you will automatically remain a Tiger Friend until the next edition.

Did you become a Tiger Friend for one year in 2011?
Tiger Friends who became friends in 2011 for one year and wish to continue their friendship should renew their Tiger Friends memberships for the coming edition(s). After becoming a member for 2012, the new conditions with regard to direct debit will apply. This means that, at the moment, you will not automatically become a Tiger Friend for 2012.
