New Arrivals is an online platform for shorts, a collaboration between the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and Dutch broadcasting company NPS. IFFR is inviting filmmakers from all over the world to send in their short film. All entries will be shown online. An editorial committee selects five films every month, a jury selects the monthly winner. At the upcoming 37th edition of the IFFR (23 Jan till 3 Feb 2008) all seven monthly winners will be shown at a special event. The winner receives € 1000. Films that have been shown on New Arrivals can not be included in the next festival’s short film section: Short: as long as it takes.Deadline is the 15th of every month. Monthly Winner June 2007Chocalate & Churros by Mario de la Torre won the 4th round, while It Hurts by Hester Scheurwater turned out to be the audience favourite.Monthly Winner September 2007The New Arrivals-jury has named 50 cent by Ester Gould and Sarah Sylbing as the best film of September. The film also received the most votes from the online audience.
