De eerste sciencefictionfilm ooit (uit 1902!) is gerestaureerd en nu in kleur te zien. Met soundtrack van AIR. Vertoond samen met Le voyage extraordinaire.
Uit het omvangrijke oeuvre van filmpionier Georges Méliès is Le voyage dans la lune (1902) verreweg het bekendste werk. Méliès baseerde het verhaal op twee populaire romans uit zijn tijd, The First Men in the Moon (1901) van H.G. Wells en Jules Verne's De la terre à la lune (1865). De onlangs gerestaureerde film is nu in kleur te zien.

I would like to suggest some corrections to the prensentation of A Trip to Moon by Georges Méliès on your web site. The original color version, lost for several decades, miraculously found in Spain, was finally meticulously restored in 2011 by three entities, experts in film restoration : two non profit entities - Groupama Gan Foundation for Cinema and Technicolor Foundation for Cinema - and a private collection, Lobster Films.
This was one of the most complex and ambitious restoration ever made and it was premiere at Cannes in May 2011 for the Opening Ceremony of the festival.
This restoration has just been awarded by the National Society of Film Critics.
Second comment : The documentary "Voyage Extraordinaire" by Serge Bromberg, is followed by A Trip to the Moon by Georges Méliès. They are 2 separate films and should be presented this way. I believe Georges Méliès would certainly appreciate not to be hidden....
Could you please correct this in order to inform the audience.
