Ben RUSSELL (1976, Verenigde Staten) maakt korte films, performances en installaties. Hij vertoont zijn werk bij voorkeur op ongebruikelijke plaatsen, zoals kloosters, kelders van politiebureaus en Japanse cinematheken. Zijn interesse gaat uit naar antropologie. Na de vele korte films die hij opnam in Suriname, maakte hij zijn eerste lange film Let Each One Go Where He May (2009). Zijn nieuwe short River Rites wordt op het IFFR in 2012 vertoond.
