David GATTEN (1971, Verenigde Staten) verkent in zijn films het snijpunt van het gedrukte woord en het bewegende beeld. Gatten studeerde in 1995 af aan de University of North Carolina Greensboro en rondde in 1998 zijn opleiding af aan het School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Als hij niet bezig is met reizen, lesgeven of het maken van films, brengt Gatten zijn tijd door in zijn negentiende-eeuwse goudmijnhut in de Rocky Mountains met schrijver en filmmaker Erin Espelie.
