Arnulf Rainer   RG-2012 EX-2008 WC-2002 FS-2000

This is a film composed entirely of solid black and solid white frames, strung together in lengths as long as 24 frames and as short as a single frame.

One of the most absolute films ever conceived, this 'metric' film derives its title from the friendship (and sponsorship) of fellow artist Arnulf Rainer. The same radical reduction was also pursued in the 'Flicker films' made by Tony Conrad, Paul Sharits and others. With a very different outcome each time.
