Each year, International Film Festival Rotterdam celebrates a number of outstanding films with a variety of awards. Many of these prizes are awarded by (international) juries, while several of the winners are chosen by the IFFR audiences. The Big Screen Award

International Film Festival Rotterdam introduces a new audience award, the Big Screen Award. Nominated for this prize are ten very recent films with no Benelux distributor confirmed.

The Dioraphte Award is a prize for the Hubert Bals Fund-supported film that receives the highest average vote from the festival audience.

The UPC Audience Award (€ 10.000) is awarded to the film in the official selection with the highest average vote in the audience poll.

FIPRESCI Award

The FIPRESCI Award is given to the filmmaker of the best film with a world premiere in Bright Future, by the jury of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique (FIPRESCI).

MovieZone Award

The MovieZone Award is chosen from the feature film section by the young members of the MovieZone jury from the Nederlands Instituut voor Filmeducatie.

NETPAC Award

Each year, members of a jury selected by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) choose the best Asian feature at the festival.

The KNF Award is given to the best feature film in the official section that is yet to find distribution within the Netherlands.

The Eurimages Award is awarded to the best CineMart project among the European co-productions.

The ARTE France Cinéma Award is given to the producer of the best CineMart project, to support its financial development.

WorldView New Genres Fund Development Award

During the festival of 2013, a new award will be introduced: the WorldView New Genres Fund Development Award of €5.000, granted to the best CineMart project.
