Business Director Patrick van Mil leaves IFFR

Patrick van Mil, currently Business Director of the International Film
Festival Rotterdam, has been appointed Business Director of the
Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Van Mil will join the Stedelijk Museum on 14 March 2010. Responsible for the commercial and organisational aspects of the museum’s management, Patrick van Mil will join Ann Goldstein who assumes the post of Director of the Stedelijk Museum on 1 January 2010 and will serve as its General Artistic Director.

In September 2008 Patrick van Mil joined the IFFR as Business Director, working side-by-side with General Artistic Director Rutger Wolfson on the organisation’s day-to-day operations, where his responsibilities included operational management and internal organisation, financial policy, marketing, fund-raising, and subsidy and sponsorship acquisition.

Rutger Wolfson says about Patrick van Mil leaving the IFFR: "As
wholeheartedly as I have congratulated Patrick with his new position at the Stedelijk Museum, as much I am sad to see him leave the festival organisation next March. The past year, with the economic crisis hitting hard, we have managed to secure an artistically strong and financially secure upcoming festival edition as well as to launch Cinema Reloaded, IFFR's new platform for online film financing and distribution through crowd funding. As soon as possible after IFFR 2010, I hope to announce the appointment of Patrick's successor as IFFR Business Director."
