What was the starting point or the initial idea for this film?
I still wonder what could have been the starting point for this film…
Was it the street lamps on that particular sea front lighting quietly in the dusk? (I knew this set from shooting my previous film a few meters away!). Or was it the issue of isolation that triggered this film?
Can you share an important/funny/moving/surprising anecdote of the making-of this film with us?
Being the one holding the camera and wearing headphones to hear what was being said on the phone. The conversation took place in real time and was mostly improvised, so I was the only one on the set to hear and see the scenes taking place. Of course the sound engineer also had headphones, but he had to hide with the rest of the team to avoid any reflection onto the phone booth’s glass panes. I didn’t quite realize then how intimate the set up was…
What do you do when not making films?
I dream about making films!
What would you like to say to your audience before seeing your film?
May I have your full attention??
What project(s) are you working on this year?
I’m currently working on a feature-film project involving a bunch of cousins between 7 and 17 years-old, spending their summer vacation in a large family home by the sea.
